Role & Department Overview

Lancaster University Examinations Office is currently recruiting examination invigilators for the Main Summer Exam period, which runs from late-April to mid-June 2020.  For this particular role, we are looking for lead invigilators to oversee adapted examinations located within a computer lab to accommodate students who require access to a computer.  The lead invigilator will be assisted by one or more other invigilators.

This position requires access to the LanSchool management software and is therefore suitable for Postgraduate Research (PGR) students only.  The position is NOT open to current Lancaster Undergraduate (UG) or Postgraduate Taught (PGT) students.

Exams occur over two sessions per day, Monday to Saturday.  The invigilation required for each session varies from one-and-a-half hours to five hours.  Invigilators are expected to collect exam materials from the Exams Office at 8:30 a.m. for the morning session or 1:00 p.m. for the afternoon session (examinations start at 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. respectively).  Applicants must be available for a minimum of two sessions per week.  Hours are variable and cannot be guaranteed above the minimum application requirement.

No prior experience is required, however returning applicants with previous invigilation experience will be prioritised.
