A waste recycling company in the Fleetwood area who manufacture a renewable fuel for cement sector are looking to recruit a Marketing intern. To assist with reviewing their website, social media strategy, and also planning stakeholder engagement (eg with local neighbours). This placement is open to undergraduates, graduates and postgraduates and is a great opportunity to gain experience inputting into an SME’s marketing plans.
 
The company has grown rapidly from its inception in 2013, with two sites now in Lancashire, and in the longer term is exploring ambitious plans to expand its range of renewable fuels and further enhance the efficiency of its operations.

Job Description

Internship – Marketing Intern

The successful candidate would use their skills to:

  • Carry out research into existing markets and competitors
  • Review the company’s website
  • Advise the business on their current marketing strategy
  • Implement improvements to the website alongside their IT company
  • Implement improvements to their social media strategy, particularly LinkedIn
  • Recommend improvements to their planning and engagement with other stakeholders, eg neighbours to their plants.

Working pattern:

This will be an eight-week placement.   The position is full-time, but flexibility may be available for the right candidate.  Some days work at the Fleetwood base may be required at the start and close of the project, but the rest of the internship can be conducted remotely if this suits the right candidate.  An additional work experience bursary may be available and further details can be found here: work experience bursary.

Person Specification

Skills and qualities required:

  • An undergraduate / postgraduate / graduate of Lancaster University
  • An individual from a marketing background (desirable)
  • Strong digital marketing skills
  • Knowledge of LinkedIn
  • Creativity and the ability to be a motivated self-starter
  • Excellent communication and planning skills
