Job Description

The Lancaster Institute for the Contemporary Arts (LICA) are recruiting for a LICA Teaching Coordinator, a varied role providing a range of clerical and admin services. The department is a vibrant and lively place to work and this role is an excellent opportunity to gain experience working at a World Class University.

 
Pay Rate: £11.56 + £1.40 holiday pay = £12.96 per hour

Working Hours: 0.8 - 1.0 FTE

Main Duties:

  • Responsible for the administration of LICA Postgraduate courses, providing a range of clerical and admin services and support both taught and research post graduate students
  • Upload marks to LUSI – the student database
  • Arrange module enrolment
  • Handle feedback
  • Liaise with external examiners, students and internal staff
  • Attend exam boards, service committees, organise vivas and work with staff and student to ensure all aspects of PG administrations are up to date
  • Involved in the recruitment and LICA based aspects of Postgraduate admission with the first major task being ensuring Welcome Week runs smoothly
  • You will be the first port of contact for student enquiries and will support our students through signposting, helping to ensure visa compliance and working with central teams to ensure a positive student experience

Any other duties appropriate to grade as required by your line manager and Head of Department. The departing coordinator has left extensive hand over notes, so whilst this will be a challenging assignment we hope you will feel well supported

 Person Specification:
  • Excellent Microsoft office Competency
  • Organisation and multi-tasking
  • Customer service skills
  • Ability to react quickly to the unexpected and the ability to work unsupervised and with initiative
  • Able to take accurate minutes
  • Experience of using LUSI would be a strong advantage
Dates of Role: 27th August (or as soon as possible thereafter) – Friday 11th October (in the first instance)
